Pok Pok
A calm, Montessori-inspired digital playroom for ages 2–8 with open-ended toys like Code Factory, Phonics, Geometry, Cooking, Dinosaurs, Drawing and a Marble Machine. No ads, no words, no winning or losing. Subscription after a 7-day free trial.
What is Pok Pok?
Pok Pok is a digital playroom for young children, built as a set of open-ended toys rather than a game with levels. It comes from Pok Pok Inc., a company launched by Snowman, the studio behind Alto's Adventure. It won an Apple Design Award in 2021 and an App Store Award in 2023.
The design goal is calm. There are no ads, no words, no rules and no winning or losing. Pok Pok calls it Montessori-inspired: kids lead, explore and experiment at their own pace.
How it works
Your child opens the app and picks a toy. In the Marble Machine, they build tracks and watch marbles roll. In Code Factory, they snap together sequences, an early taste of coding logic. Phonics, Geometry, Cooking, Dinosaurs, Drawing and a Busy Board offer more ways to tinker. Nothing is timed or scored.
Because there is no language, kids can play without reading or instructions, though a parent may help a toddler discover what a toy can do. Once downloaded, it works offline. One subscription can be shared on all family devices through a Pok Pok account or Apple Family Sharing.
What it covers
| Toy | Skills it invites |
|---|---|
| Code Factory | Sequencing, cause and effect, early coding logic |
| Phonics | Letter sounds and early word play |
| Geometry and Marble Machine | Shapes, spatial reasoning, simple physics |
| Cooking and Dinosaurs | Pretend play, vocabulary, curiosity about the world |
| Drawing and Busy Board | Creativity, fine motor skills |
New toys are added regularly.
Who it's best for

Can a scholarship or ESA pay for it?
Sometimes. Programs that serve pre-K or allow educational software may treat an early learning app as an eligible expense, but many start at kindergarten and each one decides. Read how scholarships and ESAs work, and check your state, such as Arizona or Florida. Save Pok Pok to your wishlist and apply once on Edulist.
