South Dakota Partners in Education

South Dakota Partners in Education (SDPE) is the only scholarship granting organization in South Dakota's Partners in Education Tax Credit Program, funded by insurance companies that receive a 100% credit against the state insurance premium tax. For 2025-26 it awarded 1,783 scholarships averaging $2,457 at 48 partner private schools, using $5 million in tax-credit contributions. SDPE says it intends to participate in the federal scholarship tax credit in 2027.
