Catholic Heritage Curricula

$108.35

A gentle, open-and-go Catholic homeschool curriculum with grade-level core kits and daily lesson plans for preschool through 8th grade, plus a guidebook for designing high school. No tuition or enrollment.

What is Catholic Heritage Curricula?

Catholic Heritage Curricula (CHC) has published Catholic homeschool books and lesson plans for more than three decades. It describes its approach in five words: academically excellent, Catholic, easy to use, flexible and joyful. Faith runs through every subject in a natural, gentle way.

CHC is not a school. There's no tuition, no enrollment and no grading service. You buy the books and plans, teach at home and keep your own records.

How CHC works

Each grade has a core kit with daily lesson plans, answer keys and core texts. Plans for preschool through 4th grade use a four-day week, with Wednesday left as a flex day for Mass, appointments or catch-up. From 5th grade, plans move to five days.

Lessons are short in the early years. CHC estimates 30 to 45 minutes a day for preschool and 60 to 90 minutes for kindergarten. Many materials are written to the child, so kids build independence as they grow. CHC also marks which subjects are core and which are optional, so you can lighten a hard week.

Kits run from preschool through 8th grade. For high school, the High School of Your Dreams Guidebook helps you build a plan around college, community college or vocational school, or an apprenticeship. CHC's science series emphasizes God as designer and avoids both literal creationism and atheistic evolution.

Who it's best for

CHC is a great fit for Catholic families with young children who want a peaceful, faith-filled rhythm and open-and-go plans. It works well for both Novus Ordo and Latin Mass families.

Look elsewhere if you need accreditation and transcripts. Kolbe Academy and Seton Home Study School offer enrollment with records.

Pricing at a glance

As of October 2026, core kits range from $108.35 for preschool to $378.45 for 6th grade. Math is extra. CHC doesn't offer bulk or military discounts and has no payment plans, but it runs occasional $3.95 flat-rate shipping specials. Returns carry a 15% restocking fee.

Can a scholarship or ESA pay for it?

Often, yes. CHC's FAQ explains three ways to pay: buy and get reimbursed (used in Arizona, Florida and New Hampshire), direct pay through ClassWallet in states such as Alabama and South Carolina, or TheoPay for West Virginia's Hope Scholarship. Each program decides what it covers.

Catholic Heritage Curricula FAQs

Is Catholic Heritage Curricula accredited?

No. CHC is a curriculum provider, not a school, so it can't be accredited, though accredited Catholic schools use its materials. Families who want accreditation can enroll elsewhere and still use CHC books.

Does CHC include math?

No. Core kits leave out math because it can be bought more cheaply elsewhere, but the lesson plans schedule a recommended program, such as MCP Math Level A in 1st grade.

How long does CHC take each day?

CHC estimates 30–45 minutes a day for preschool and 60–90 minutes for kindergarten, four days a week. Older grades take longer and move to five days a week in 5th grade.

Does CHC offer high school?

Yes, but differently. The High School of Your Dreams Guidebook helps parents design a program on a college, vocational or apprenticeship track, and includes a transcript template.

Can I use the same CHC kit for more than one child?

Yes. Non-consumable books can be shared, and lesson plans can be reused for another child. Buy workbooks and other consumables for each child.

Can I pay for CHC with ESA funds?

Often. CHC accepts reimbursement-style purchases, ClassWallet direct pay in some states, and TheoPay for West Virginia's Hope Scholarship. ClassWallet orders ship after payment arrives, which can take two to four weeks.

What is CHC's return policy?

Unused books can be returned within 60 days for a refund minus a 15% restocking fee, and you pay return shipping. Lesson plans, e-books and maps are final sale.
