What is Seton Home Study School?
Seton Home Study School is a Catholic distance-learning school for Pre-K through 12th grade. It's based in Front Royal, Virginia, in the Diocese of Arlington, and has served homeschool families since 1982. When you enroll, your child becomes a Seton student: Seton supplies the books and plans, grades the work and keeps the official records.
The core idea is a traditional Catholic education at home, with the Faith woven into every subject.
How it works
Full enrollment ships a box of textbooks, workbooks and daily lesson plans for each subject. The parent teaches from the plans each day, and the student completes the readings, workbooks and tests.
- Students send in quarterly tests and assignments, by mail or online, and Seton grades them.
- Seton issues report cards, transcripts and, for high schoolers, a diploma.
- Academic counselors answer questions by phone, email and online.
- Enrollment lasts 12 months plus a 2-month grace period, so you can start anytime.
This is a parent-led program. Expect to spend real time teaching, especially in the early grades.
