KiwiCo plans and prices

KiwiCo sells each crate line as a renewing subscription: billed monthly, or prepaid for 3, 6 or 12 months, with longer terms lowering the per-crate price. Exact prices depend on the crate line and plan and appear in KiwiCo's checkout flow rather than on its product pages, so confirm the total before you subscribe. Shipping is free for US subscribers. Single crates and past projects are also sold one at a time in the KiwiCo store.

Per-month prices divide yearly plans by 12. Prices from the provider, checked 2026-10-13; confirm on the official KiwiCo site.

KiwiCo free trial, discounts and cancellation

Free trial: There is no free trial. KiwiCo describes a Free Trial subscription type in its help center when promotions run; it follows the same rules as a monthly plan.
Free version: No free version of the crates.
Discounts: First-crate email offer: As of October 2026, KiwiCo offers 40% off the first crate when you sign up for its emails; exclusions apply.
Member store discount: Subscribers get 10% off orders in the KiwiCo store, plus free US shipping and early access to new products.
Longer prepaid plans: Prepaid 3-, 6- and 12-month plans cost less per crate than paying month to month.
Siblings: KiwiCo has no dedicated multi-child discount, but says most of its promo codes work on more than one subscription.
How to cancel: Log in, click your name, choose Subscriptions, click Manage next to the crate, then Cancel your subscription. Cancel by 11:59 PM Eastern the day before your billing date to avoid the next charge. Monthly plans can be canceled after the first crate ships. Prepaid 3-, 6- and 12-month plans cannot be canceled mid-term; you can only turn off auto-renewal so they stop at the end.
Refunds: KiwiCo publishes a separate return policy for store orders; prepaid subscription terms are not refunded mid-term under its cancellation rules.
Extra costs: An optional Book Add-On ships a themed book with most crate lines (not Eureka or Maker). Deluxe subscriptions add extra materials. International subscribers pay per-crate shipping and any customs fees.

We list only discounts the provider publishes. We never post coupon codes we can’t verify.

Some ESA programs allow educational kits and supplies as well as curriculum, while others limit purchases to approved vendors or core instruction; each program decides. Subscription boxes are a gray area in many programs, so check your state's rules before buying with ESA funds.

Is KiwiCo worth the money?

KiwiCo makes the most polished project subscription for kids, and its age-banded crate lines mean a family can stay with it from toddlerhood to the teen years. It is enrichment, not a science curriculum: one project a month will not cover a year of science on its own. Read the plan terms carefully, because prepaid plans cannot be canceled early, and that is the top complaint in public reviews.
