Is Logic of English worth the money?

Logic of English is one of the most thorough rules-based reading and spelling programs available, and it explains why English words are spelled the way they are. It asks a lot of the parent, who teaches every lesson. Families who want a short, open-and-go program or an app their child can use alone may find it too much.
