SplashLearn

$11.99/mo
MathReadingGrades Pre-K–5App

A game-based math and reading program for preschool through grade 5, with adaptive practice, printable worksheets and optional live classes. Free for teachers; families pay about $11.99 a month or $89.99 a year.

What is SplashLearn?

SplashLearn is a math and reading program for kids from preschool through grade 5. It's made by StudyPad, Inc., the company behind the earlier Splash Math apps. Kids play short, colorful games that practice one skill at a time, and the program adjusts as they go.

Teachers can use it free in class, which is how many families first hear about it. Parents can buy a membership for home use.

How it works

After a quick start, your child gets a personalized path of games and activities. Correct answers earn rewards and unlock new areas. Sessions are short, usually 15 to 30 minutes. Younger kids may need help logging in, but most can play on their own after a few days.

Parents get a dashboard that shows what's mastered and where a child is stuck. SplashLearn also offers printable worksheets that match the digital skills. Some annual plans include small-group live classes in the US and Canada.

What it covers

Grade bandMathReading
Preschool and KCounting, shapes, comparingLetters, phonics, sight words
Grades 1–2Addition, subtraction, place value, time, moneyPhonics, vocabulary, early comprehension
Grades 3–5Multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, geometryComprehension, grammar, vocabulary

The games reinforce skills well. They give less direct teaching than a lesson-based curriculum.

Who it's best for

SplashLearn fits families with young kids who want math and reading practice in one app, especially those with 2 or 3 kids under 11. It's not for middle schoolers. If your child needs more teaching, consider Khan Academy Kids for early years or a structured phonics program for reading.

Pricing at a glance

As of October 2026, the App Store lists a monthly membership at $11.99 and an annual one at $89.99, and independent trackers report a family plan for up to 3 kids. Prices vary by where you buy. A 7-day free trial requires payment details and renews automatically, so note the end date.

Can a scholarship or ESA pay for it?

Many programs let families buy educational software, but each one decides what counts. Florida's PEP handbook lists instructional materials as eligible, for example. Check the rules for your state on our scholarships hub, such as Florida or Arizona. Save SplashLearn to your wishlist and apply once on Edulist.
