Timberdoodle Curriculum Kits
Boxed, customizable grade-level homeschool kits for toddlers through 12th grade that bundle books from many publishers with STEM toys, games and an online scheduler, in Basic, Complete and Elite tiers.
What is Timberdoodle?
Timberdoodle is a family-owned homeschool company in Washington state that has sold curriculum since 1985. It doesn't write its own textbooks. Instead, it builds grade-level kits from programs it likes, such as All About Reading, Math-U-See and Spelling You See, and adds games, puzzles, building sets and art supplies.
Every kit comes in three tiers, Basic, Complete and Elite, and in Classic or Nonreligious editions. You can swap any item, so the kit bends to your child instead of the other way around.
How Timberdoodle kits work
Each kit includes a Curriculum Handbook and access to the online Scheduler. You activate the Scheduler with a code from the handbook, and it turns every subject into a daily checklist. A sample mid-year kindergarten Friday in the Complete kit has nine tasks to check off.
The handbook ties the year together and points you to each program's own teacher's guide. Timberdoodle says most families spend about one to three hours a day, four or five days a week. Younger kids need you beside them; older students can work more on their own, and high school materials speak directly to the student.
What it covers
| Tier | What you get (2026 kindergarten example) |
|---|---|
| Basic | 8 courses: phonics and reading, spelling, handwriting, math, thinking skills, feelings and art |
| Complete | 20 courses: adds social studies, geography, science, test prep, a building set and art kits |
| Elite | 32 courses: adds more math, science books, STEM kits, puzzles and craft projects |
Kits run from Tiny Tots and preschool through 12th grade. Critical thinking and STEM are a thread through every level. Bible isn't bundled in either edition, so Christian families often add their own.
Who it's best for
Timberdoodle shines for busy families who want a full year in one box, and for kids who learn by doing. It's also a practical choice for ESA families, because the Nonreligious edition meets most programs' rules.
It's a weaker fit if you want one teaching philosophy across every subject, a literature-heavy day, or a low price. For a reading-centered boxed year, look at BookShark or Sonlight.
Pricing at a glance
As of October 2026, kits for kindergarten through 12th grade start at $450 to $581, with preschool from $354.80. Elite kits cost much more; the Kindergarten Classic Elite kit is $994.09. Prepaid kits ship free in the lower 48, and two payment plans are available. Returns are allowed within 30 days, but partial returns lose the kit discount.
Can a scholarship or ESA pay for it?
Often, yes. Timberdoodle accepts ClassWallet and TheoPay, sells through program marketplaces like Step Up For Students' MyScholarShop, and takes charter school purchase orders. Families using Florida scholarships or Arizona's ESA commonly buy curriculum this way, but each program decides what it covers.

Timberdoodle Curriculum Kits FAQs
What's the difference between Basic, Complete and Elite kits?
Basic covers the core subjects and suits families combining grades or watching costs. Complete adds subjects like science, history, geography and STEM. Elite adds even more hands-on tools, art kits and extra books.
Is Timberdoodle Christian or secular?
Both. Classic kits include some Christian content, and Nonreligious kits swap those items out. In kindergarten the main difference is the social studies book; neither edition includes a Bible course.
Is Timberdoodle accredited?
No. Timberdoodle sells curriculum, and accreditation applies to schools. It offers a state requirements cheat sheet to help you check your own state's rules.
Can I customize a Timberdoodle kit?
Yes. The Custom Kit Builder lets you swap any item or mix levels, such as a 3rd-grade kit with 2nd-grade math. Customized kits keep the scheduler.
Can I use ESA or scholarship funds at Timberdoodle?
Often, yes. Depending on your program you'll check out with ClassWallet or TheoPay, order through your program's marketplace, or have a charter school send a purchase order. Most programs require the Nonreligious edition.
What is Timberdoodle's return policy?
You have 30 days from delivery to return items in new condition, and you pay return shipping. Partial kit returns lose the kit discount, and handbooks are non-returnable.
How much time does a Timberdoodle kit take each day?
Timberdoodle says most families spend about one to three hours a day, four to five days a week. Older students can do more of the work on their own.
