Typesy
A subscription keyboarding program from eReflect with video lessons, games and grade-aligned typing courses, plus extras like sight words, coding and digital citizenship. Homeschool plans start at $72 a year for two students.
What is Typesy?
Typesy is a keyboarding program from eReflect, a software company founded in 2006. It teaches touch typing through video lessons, games and grade-aligned courses, and it gives parents a dashboard to assign work, grade tests and track progress. Every plan also includes extra courses: sight words, coding, digital citizenship, Microsoft Office and Google apps, career skills and vocabulary.
How it works
You set up a parent account and add your students. Each student then gets a course matched to their age or grade:
- Watch a short video lesson on finger placement or a new set of keys.
- Practice with adaptive drills and games. Typesy lists about 20 games, plus collectible pets and avatars.
- Take an auto-graded test.
- Check the reports to see speed, accuracy and assignments.
Kids can work on their own. You can assign lessons, set goals or adjust grading. Typesy runs in a browser and on Windows, Mac, iPad, Android tablets and Chromebook, and progress syncs across devices.
What it covers
| Track | Ages or grades | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Typesy Kids | Ages 4+, K–2 | Home row basics, sight words |
| Grade-aligned keyboarding | Grades 2–9 | Speed, accuracy, standards-aligned lessons |
| Teen and adult | Ages 12+ | Speed building, productivity apps, typing certificate |
Typesy says its content aligns with Common Core, Texas TEKS, Florida BEST and ISTE standards.
Who it's best for
Typesy suits families who want keyboarding treated like a real class, with lessons, assignments and grades. It also works well for several kids or a co-op. If you only need basic home-row practice, free options like TypingClub or Typing.com may be enough. For a first taste with young kids, try BBC's free Dance Mat Typing.
Pricing at a glance
As of October 2026, homeschool plans are $72 a year for two students, $132 for five, or $360 for a 15-student co-op. Monthly billing costs more. All plans start with a 7-day free trial. Direct purchases come with a money-back policy for 365 days.
Can a scholarship or ESA pay for it?
Some education savings account programs reimburse educational software subscriptions, and some limit them, so check your program first. Start with scholarships and ESAs by state, or see Arizona's ESA and Florida scholarships. Save Typesy to your Edulist wishlist, and you can apply once to the programs that fit.
