Wilson Hill Academy
An accredited online classical Christian school, open since 2014, for grades 3–12. Every class meets live twice a week for 90 minutes over the full year. Families take single courses for $750 to $1,200 each or a full-time Graduation Track toward a WHA diploma.
What is Wilson Hill Academy?
Wilson Hill Academy (WHA) is an online classical Christian school that has run live classes since 2014. It aims to teach students "how to think, not what to think" from a biblical worldview, and it works alongside parents rather than replacing them.
WHA is accredited by SACS CASI, a division of Cognia, and lists its approved core courses with the NCAA. It is a member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools. Its terms require teachers to teach in line with the Nicene Creed.
How it works
Every course meets live twice a week for 90 minutes and runs the whole school year. Classes are Socratic, so students are expected to talk, not just listen. Between classes, students turn in work through Canvas. Teachers do the teaching and grading, and parents act as learning coaches. All class times are in Eastern Time.
Families choose one of two paths:
- Individual courses. Take one or a few classes to fill gaps in a homeschool plan. No application is required.
- Graduation Track. A full-time load that leads to a WHA diploma.
Registration happens in the spring and summer for a fall start. Waitlists are free, with priority for seniors, full-time students and students facing time zone conflicts.
What it covers
| Division | Grades | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Forma | Ages 5–8 | Parent-led homeschool support, not live classes |
| Grammar School | 3–6 | Live courses with a recommended course plan |
| School of Logic | 7–8 | Live courses; the one-time records fee starts in grade 8 |
| School of Rhetoric | 9–12 | Math through calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, Latin, Spanish, AP and the Graduation Track |
Books are bought separately from each course's book list, posted under the Academics tab.
Who it's best for
Wilson Hill fits Christian families who want classical courses taught live by experienced teachers. It suits students who enjoy discussion and can handle a full year of homework. Look elsewhere if you need self-paced lessons or the freedom to drop a class mid-year, or if you live far from Eastern Time.
Pricing at a glance
For 2026–27, each course costs $750 to $1,200 for the full year. There is no annual registration fee, but rising 8th graders and new high schoolers pay a one-time $300 Student Records Fee. You can pay in full or put down a deposit of 25% to 75% depending on the date, then pay the rest through FACTS. Read the drop rules closely: after the two-week grace period, a drop forfeits 25% to 100% of tuition.
Can a scholarship or ESA pay for it?
In some states. Wilson Hill appears as a provider in the Children's Scholarship Fund marketplace for New Hampshire's Education Freedom Accounts, with payments through ClassWallet. Its terms say families using state funds still need a payment plan if tuition isn't paid in full at registration. For other programs, such as the Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account, ask the school and the program. Each program decides.
