View wishlistBrilliant is excellent for kids and teens who like puzzles and want to understand math, not just get answers, and its Koji tutor reinforces that. It's not a structured grade-by-grade course with teacher grading, and the free tier is tight. For a motivated middle or high schooler, Premium is good value; for a reluctant learner, it may go unused.
Brilliant reviews: what parents say →Free nonprofit learning site with videos, articles and mastery-based practice for K–12 math, science, ELA, social studies, computing and test prep, plus an optional $4-a-month AI tutor called Khanmigo.
Brilliant vs Khan Academy: Which Is Better for Learning Math? →Rigorous math textbooks, live online classes and free practice tools for advanced students in grades 5–12, plus Beast Academy for ages 6–13 and in-person AoPS Academy campuses.
Math Academy is an adaptive online math program that places each student with a diagnostic, then uses a knowledge graph and spaced review to move them through courses from 4th grade math to AP Calculus and university math.
As of October 2026, Brilliant shows Premium at $20 a month billed annually ($240 a year) or $30 month to month for one person. The Family plan covers 6 seats for $40 a month billed annually.
There's a free tier. It gives 2 keys a day to unlock 2 concepts or practice sets, requires working in order, shows occasional ads and offers only a short preview of the Koji tutor. Premium removes those limits.
Brilliant says it works with Arizona ESA through ClassWallet and with Florida's PEP and FES-UA reimbursements. Rules change and each program decides, so confirm with your program and save Brilliant to your Edulist wishlist.
