Create & Learn
Live online coding, AI and robotics classes for grades K–12 in small groups of 5 students or fewer, with free one-hour intro classes in Scratch, Minecraft, Roblox, Python and AI.
What is Create & Learn?
Create & Learn is a live online school for coding, AI and robotics, for kids in kindergarten through 12th grade. Jessie Jiang and Yuanzong Qiu founded it in 2017, and it is based in Palo Alto. The company says more than 100,000 students have taken its classes.
The core idea is a real teacher with a small class. Group classes are capped at 5 students, so each child gets attention and feedback.
How it works
Classes meet live on Zoom. A typical group course has four 55-minute sessions, and most courses come in 2 to 4 parts that build on each other. Kids code along with the teacher, then build their own version of the project.
If your child misses a group session, Create & Learn offers free makeup sessions. Parents mostly help with setup and scheduling; kids work with the instructor.
Before paying, most families start with a free one-hour intro class to see whether a subject clicks.
What it covers
| Example class | Grades listed |
|---|---|
| Intro to Scratch (free) | 2–5 |
| Scratch Ninja | 2–6 |
| Minecraft Modding Quest | 3–6 |
| Beginner Roblox | 4–9 |
| AI Explorers | 4–8 |
| Accelerated Scratch | 5–9 |
| Python for AI | 5–10 |
Create & Learn lists more than 40 subjects in all, including web development, robotics and digital design, with grade bands from K–2 up to 9–12.
Who it's best for
Create & Learn is a great fit for kids who do better with a teacher and classmates than alone with an app. It also suits families who want to test interest with a free class first.
If you want unlimited practice for one low fee, a self-paced app is cheaper. Kids with unpredictable schedules may struggle with weekly class times.
Pricing at a glance
As of October 2026, group classes are $94.50 for four sessions and private lessons are $240 for four sessions, both shown as sale prices. Sibling, referral and multi-part discounts are listed.
Can a scholarship or ESA pay for it?
Possibly. Some ESA and scholarship programs allow live classes or tutoring, but each one decides which providers it pays. Start at our scholarships hub and your state page, such as Florida scholarships. On Edulist you can save Create & Learn to your wishlist and apply once.
How it compares
CodaKid also has live lessons but focuses on private 1-on-1 plus a self-paced library. Families who used Juni Learning, which closed its live classes in 2025, often look at both. For free practice between classes, Scratch pairs well with a Scratch course, and Tynker adds structured self-paced lessons. See all coding programs for kids and elementary coding.
