Juni Learning
Former live online coding and math tutoring for kids, founded in 2017. Juni discontinued its live classes in 2025, and junilearning.com now redirects to Acely, the company's SAT and ACT prep product.
What is Juni Learning?
Juni Learning was an online school for kids that taught coding and math through live classes with an instructor. It was founded in 2017 and went through Y Combinator.
That product no longer exists. In September 2025, Juni posted a message on its website saying it was closing its live classes after eight years. The San Francisco Examiner reported that the company notified California it would lay off 121 people on November 1, 2025, mostly instructors, as a result of discontinuing its live online classes.
What happened to Juni
The company, Juni Learning, Inc., now runs Acely, an AI-powered prep platform for the SAT, ACT, PSAT and AP exams. As of October 2026, typing junilearning.com into a browser takes you to Acely's website.
Acely is a very different product. It is aimed at high schoolers preparing for college admission tests, not children learning to code.
What it covered
When it was running, Juni offered live online coding classes and math instruction for kids and teens, and later college prep. Course details and prices from that era are no longer published, so we don't list them here.
Who it's best for
Today, the company's offering only fits high school students who want SAT or ACT prep through Acely. If you came here looking for live coding classes, Juni is not an option anymore.
Pricing at a glance
Juni classes are not for sale. Acely lists plans from $49 a month on an annual plan, with a free tier.
Can a scholarship or ESA pay for it?
There is nothing to fund for Juni. If you want a live coding teacher, some ESA and scholarship programs may cover classes or tutoring from another provider; each program decides. Start at our scholarships hub, save the alternatives below to your wishlist, and apply once on Edulist.
Alternatives to Juni Learning
The closest replacement for Juni's 1-on-1 model is CodaKid, which sells weekly private lessons with a live instructor plus self-paced courses. Create & Learn runs live small-group classes with 5 students or fewer and offers free intro classes. For self-paced practice, Tynker and CodeCombat are well-known options, and CodeMonkey gets kids typing real code early.
How to pick a replacement
- Want the same 1-on-1 feel? Choose private lessons, and ask for a free first session before you commit.
- Want a lower price? Small-group live classes usually cost less per hour than private lessons.
- Want practice between lessons? Add a self-paced plan so your child keeps coding during the week.
- Need it funded? Check whether your state's ESA or scholarship pays the provider you pick before you enroll.
