Mathseeds
Mathseeds is an online math program for ages 3 to 9 from the makers of Reading Eggs. Its 200 animated lessons cover kindergarten through 3rd grade math, from counting to times tables, with games and rewards.
What is Mathseeds?
Mathseeds is an online math program for children ages 3 to 9. It comes from Blake eLearning, part of 3P Learning, the same team behind Reading Eggs. Children follow a path of 200 short animated lessons, earn rewards, and play games that practice each new skill.
It is built to be simple: log in, pick up where you left off, and keep going.
How it works
Your child starts at a level that fits and moves lesson by lesson. Each lesson introduces one idea with animation, then has activities to practice it. Kids earn rewards as they go, which is a big part of why young children stick with it.
Parents can check progress from a parent dashboard. Most children can use it on their own once they know how to log in, though pre-readers may need help with activities that use number words.
It runs in a web browser on a computer or tablet, and there are apps for iOS and Android.
What it covers
| Lessons | Grade | Main topics |
|---|---|---|
| 1–50 | Kindergarten | Numbers 0–20, counting, addition to 10, shapes |
| 51–100 | 1st grade | Counting to 100, place value, money, time to the half-hour |
| 101–150 | 2nd grade | Numbers to 1,000, rounding, vertical addition and subtraction |
| 151–200 | 3rd grade | Numbers to 10,000, times tables, area, angles |
The first 20 lessons are for children with little or no math experience, so it works for preschoolers too. See more kindergarten math and preschool learning options.
Who it's best for
Mathseeds fits young children who need a friendly, structured start in math, and families already using Reading Eggs who want one bill for reading and math. Up to 4 children can share a plan, which helps families with little ones close in age.
It is not a fit for children past 3rd grade, and it doesn't replace hands-on work with counters, blocks and real money.
Pricing at a glance
Mathseeds alone is $6.99 a month or $49.99 a year. The Reading & Math bundle is $13.99 a month or $99.99 a year. Every plan covers up to 4 children, monthly plans start with a 30-day free trial, and there is a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Can a scholarship or ESA pay for it?
Often, yes. Online curriculum is commonly allowed in programs like the Arizona ESA and Florida's scholarships, though each program decides what qualifies. Save Mathseeds to your wishlist, then check scholarships in your state and apply once on Edulist.
