View wishlistProdigy is one of the easiest ways to get a reluctant kid to answer math questions, and the free version is genuinely usable. The trade-off is that the game, not the math, is the star: questions come with limited teaching, and the free version nudges kids toward a paid membership. Use it as practice next to real instruction, not as a curriculum.
Prodigy reviews: what parents say →A free 3D learning game for kindergarten through grade 6 with adaptive math and English practice inside pet battles, races and adventures.
A game-based math and reading program for preschool through grade 5, with adaptive practice, printable worksheets and optional live classes.
An online practice program with thousands of skills in math (pre-K to calculus), language arts (pre-K–12), science and social studies, plus a Real-Time Diagnostic and personalized recommendations.
IXL vs Prodigy: Serious Practice or a Math Game? →Yes. Prodigy says its math and English content is free, so a child can play and answer curriculum-aligned questions without paying. A membership adds science questions, pets, gear, extra rewards and more parent controls. Expect regular in-game prompts to upgrade.

Sign in to your parent account, go to Memberships and click Cancel. For a refund, contact Prodigy support within 15 days of a monthly charge or 30 days of an annual charge; canceling by itself does not issue one. App store purchases are handled by Apple or Google.
Prodigy's own offers are annual billing (about half the monthly cost) and 25% off each membership for multiple children. We don't list coupon codes because we can't verify them, and many coupon sites recycle expired ones.
Possibly. Some ESA and scholarship programs reimburse educational software, but each program sets its own rules. Since the core game is free, many families save their funding for a core curriculum or tutoring instead.
