Every country in Europe named on one landscape page, from Iceland to Russia and from Norway to Malta. Andorra and Luxembourg are named beside the map with leader lines so their labels stay readable. Countries outside Europe, such as Türkiye and the countries of North Africa, are shaded gray so children can see where Europe ends.

Use it as a reference for the Europe map quiz, then test yourself on the blank map of Europe.

Tips for using it

  • Learn Europe in groups: the Nordic countries, the British Isles, the Iberian Peninsula, Central Europe and the Balkans.
  • Trace the Danube or the Rhine with a colored pencil and list the countries each river passes.

Questions

How many countries are in Europe?

This map counts 45, the 44 that the United Nations places in Europe plus Kosovo. Some lists add Türkiye, Cyprus or the Caucasus countries, which sit partly or wholly in Asia.

Why is Russia cut off?

Most of Russia lies in Asia. The map shows the European part, west of the Ural Mountains, where Moscow and most Russians live.
