A clean, black-and-white map of the United States with every state named, printed landscape so the map fills the page. Alaska and Hawaii sit in the usual boxes at the lower left (they are not drawn to scale), and the small northeastern states are named beside the coast with leader lines so every label stays readable.

Use it as a reference while your child plays the US states quiz, tape it inside a homeschool binder, or color the regions with colored pencils. When they are ready to test themselves, print the label-the-states worksheet or the blank US map worksheet.

Tips for using it

  • Color each of the five regions (Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, West) a different color before quizzing.
  • Learn states in small neighborhoods of five or six, then put the map away and try the quiz.

Questions

Is this map free to print for a class?

Yes. Print as many copies as you need for your family, co-op or classroom. Every copy is generated fresh, so there is nothing to buy or sign up for.

Why are Alaska and Hawaii in boxes?

They are far from the other 48 states, so most US maps move them into insets near the bottom left. The boxes are not to scale; Alaska is actually the largest state by area.
