Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas on one page, with their neighbors in gray and Mexico's border along the bottom. It's the shortest of the regional worksheets, so it makes a good first map for younger children: four boxes, four names, and an answer key on the second page.
Pair it with the Southwest states and capitals quiz and add the capitals (Phoenix, Santa Fe, Oklahoma City and Austin) beside each name for an extra challenge.
Tips for using it
- Ask children to draw a star where they think each capital is, then check with the answer key.
- Find the Oklahoma Panhandle, the "handle" of the frying pan.
