How to write the letter B: Capital B starts with a straight line down from the top line. Go back to the top and make two bumps, one to the middle and one to the bottom. Lowercase b is a tall line down from the top line, then back up and around in a bump that sits on the baseline.
This printable opens with big models of B and b: start at the green dot, follow the numbered strokes and the arrows. Your child then traces a row of each and writes more from the start dots. Tips for using it
- b and d reversals are normal at this age. Say 'bat, then ball': the bat (line) comes first, then the ball.
- Use a short pencil or a crayon broken in half; small tools encourage a better grip. For children not ready for lowercase, set Letter case to Uppercase only.
