A Thanksgiving worksheet pack with harvest math (leaves to color beside each problem), five Thanksgiving word problems with apples, pies and corn, the story "Thank You Day" with reading questions, a Thanksgiving word search, tracing Thanksgiving words and a gratitude writing prompt. This version is set to 1st grade; choose any grade from preschool to 5th and every page changes level.

In 2nd and 3rd grade, kids read "The Thankful Jar." In 4th and 5th grade, they read an accurate history of the 1621 harvest feast, including the Wampanoag perspective, and solve multi-digit and two-step harvest problems. Preschoolers count leaves and trace lines and shapes. For single activities, see the Thanksgiving word search, Thanksgiving crossword, Thanksgiving word scramble, Thanksgiving reading comprehension and Thanksgiving writing prompts.

Tips for using it

  • Do the gratitude writing prompt the day before the holiday and read it at the table.
  • Print one pack per child at their own grade for a quiet morning while the turkey cooks.
  • Use real apples or rolls as counters for younger kids.

Questions

What grades are these Thanksgiving worksheets for?

Preschool through 5th grade. Each grade gets its own math level, reading passage, word search difficulty and writing prompt.

Is the Thanksgiving history accurate?

The 4th–5th grade passage follows the primary-source record: about 90 Wampanoag men and about 50 colonists shared a three-day harvest celebration in 1621, and colonist Edward Winslow wrote that the Wampanoag brought five deer.
