Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26, 2026, and these two word searches are made for the kids' table while the turkey rests. Together they cover all 28 words in the Thanksgiving bank, split 14 and 14: the food (turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry, pie), the feelings (thankful, grateful, blessings) and the history (Pilgrims, Mayflower, Plymouth, Wampanoag).

The history words give you an easy opening to talk about the 1621 harvest celebration, when the Wampanoag people and the Plymouth colonists shared a meal that lasted several days. The Medium grid hides words across, down and diagonally; switch to Easy for younger cousins or Hard for older ones. Print a stack before the holiday so you're not hunting for a printer on Thursday morning.

Tips for using it

  • Put a puzzle and a pencil at each child's place setting to keep little ones busy before the meal.
  • When a child finds THANKFUL or GRATEFUL, ask them to name one thing they're thankful for.
  • Give the older kids puzzle 2 on Hard and the younger ones puzzle 1 on Easy, so everyone finishes around the same time.
