Miacademy
Online homeschool curriculum for kindergarten through 8th grade with 80+ courses and 3,000+ video lessons in math, language arts, science, social studies, world languages and electives, plus a moderated kids' community. $48 a month, $480 a year or a lifetime plan.
What is Miacademy?
Miacademy is an online homeschool curriculum for kindergarten through 8th grade. One membership unlocks more than 80 courses and over 3,000 lessons across every subject and grade level. Its high school sibling is MiaPrep, which covers grades 7–12.
The core idea is to make independent learning feel fun. Kids follow a daily path of video lessons and quizzes, earn rewards, customize an avatar and, if parents allow it, join a moderated online community.
How it works
Parents pick courses, set passing grades and decide which lessons to assign. The system builds a daily learning path and adjusts it as the child progresses. Lessons pair short teaching videos with interactive practice, quizzes and printable PDF activities.
A typical day might be math, language arts and one or two other subjects. The parent decides how many lessons to assign each day. Parents can view grades and attendance and turn them into their own homeschool records. Community features have three settings, including fully off.
What it covers
| Grade band | Highlights |
|---|---|
| K–2 | Phonics and reading, early math, science, life skills |
| 3–5 | Grammar, writing, multiplication through fractions, science, social studies |
| 6–8 | Pre-algebra and algebra readiness, literature, life and earth science, history |
| All grades | Spanish and ASL courses, French and German vocabulary, music and arts, electives |
Miacademy publishes a scope and sequence for each subject and a course catalog with suggested pacing. Core courses are secular; Bible Studies and Jewish Bible Study are optional electives.
Who it's best for
Miacademy suits kids who are motivated by games and a social element, secular homeschool families who want one program for all subjects, and families who expect to stay in K–8 for several years and can save with a lifetime plan.
Look elsewhere if you need school-issued records or a faith-integrated curriculum, or if you want to keep screen time low. Families who want a lower monthly price often compare it with Time4Learning.

Homeschool reviewers describe Miacademy lessons as clear and well paced, and like the broad course list and parent controls. The most common caution is that the social and video features can pull kids away from schoolwork, which parents can limit or switch off. Reviewers also note the screen time and the lack of school-issued records.
