MiaPrep
Self-paced online curriculum for grades 7–12 from the makers of Miacademy, with video lessons, quizzes, electives and a moderated teen community. An accredited online high school version, MiaPrep Online High School, adds teachers and a diploma.
What is MiaPrep?
MiaPrep is the middle and high school curriculum from the makers of Miacademy. It covers grades 7 through 12 with video lessons, quizzes and electives, and keeps the same playful touches teens grew up with: a moderated community, a student newspaper called the MiaPrep Weekly and a virtual shop where students sell items they design.
There are two ways to use it. The MiaPrep curriculum is a homeschool tool where the parent is the teacher of record. MiaPrep Online High School (MOHS) is an accredited, asynchronous online private school built on the same curriculum.
How it works
With the curriculum, parents choose courses, set the passing grade and define school periods for each subject. MiaPrep builds a daily learning path that updates as the student progresses. Lessons are professionally produced videos followed by quizzes and PDF activities, and parents can print custom reports for their records.
MOHS adds structure. Certified teachers grade cumulative assignments and hold live office hours. Students get academic counselors and advisors, small-group tutoring, staff-run clubs and a yearbook. Deadlines are set around each family's schedule, and live classes are not required.
What it covers
| Area | What students get |
|---|---|
| Core courses | Math, English, science and social studies for grades 7–12 |
| Electives | A range of electives plus a Career Exploration course |
| World languages | Language courses carry over from the Miacademy family |
| Records | Online gradebook and printable reports (curriculum); official transcripts and diploma (MOHS) |
| College | MOHS students in grades 10–12 may earn college credit through Arizona State University |
Who it's best for
MiaPrep fits Miacademy families moving into the teen years, secular homeschoolers who want a self-paced program with parent control, and teens who want an accredited diploma without rigid class times (through MOHS).
Look elsewhere if you need AP courses, daily live instruction or a lower-cost path to a diploma. Families comparing full-grade programs often weigh it against Time4Learning, which covers high school for $39.95 a month but is not accredited.
Pricing at a glance
As of October 2026, the curriculum is $54 a month, $540 a year, or $1,060 lifetime for one student. MOHS tuition is $440 a month or $4,840 a year. A first month of MiaPrep for grades 9–12 costs $9.95.
Can a scholarship or ESA pay for it?
Often. Miacademy says its programs qualify for funds in states like Arizona, Florida, Utah and Texas. Rules for curriculum and for private online school tuition can differ, and each program decides. Read how scholarships and ESAs work, save MiaPrep to your wishlist, and apply once on Edulist.
How it compares

- Time4Learning is cheaper for high school but offers no accredited diploma itself.
