Power Homeschool
An online homeschool curriculum for PreK–12 that uses Acellus video courses with automatic grading. One monthly price per student covers up to six courses, but it is not accredited and does not issue diplomas.
What is Power Homeschool?
Power Homeschool is an online homeschool curriculum that delivers Acellus video courses for PreK through 12th grade. It comes from the same nonprofit that runs Acellus Academy, but it is a curriculum, not a school. That means no accreditation, no transcripts and no diploma: the parent is the school of record and handles any homeschool paperwork your state requires.
How it works
Your child picks up to six courses at a time and works through short video lessons followed by practice questions. Acellus grades the work automatically, so parents do not grade, with the exception of some optional special lessons. When a course is finished or dropped, your child can choose another at no extra charge.
The parent's job is to supervise. In the parent account you can watch scores, adjust courses and goals, and manage billing. Power Homeschool provides no teacher support, so questions about content land with you. Lessons run in a fixed order, and students cannot skip ahead or start partway through a course. Check your state's rules in our homeschool laws by state pages, since Power Homeschool does not file anything for you.
What it covers
| Stage | Grades | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Early learning | PreK–K | Early learning courses delivered by short videos |
| Elementary | 1–5 | Core math, language arts, science and social studies |
| Middle school | 6–8 | Core subjects plus electives |
| High school | 9–12 | Core courses and electives; no diploma or transcript |
There is no maximum age, so older students and adults can enroll too.
Who it's best for
Power Homeschool fits families who want every subject covered with almost no planning, and kids who are content working through videos on their own. It is a good bridge for parents new to homeschooling. It is the wrong choice if you need a transcript for college, want live teaching, or have several kids on a tight budget, since each child is billed separately.
Pricing at a glance
Power Homeschool costs $99 a month per student, or $79 with the Roger Billings Scholarship, as of October 2026. There is no annual plan and no free trial, and payments are non-refundable. The price rose from roughly $31 a month in 2025, so older reviews are out of date. See the Power Homeschool pricing page for details.
Can a scholarship or ESA pay for it?
Online curriculum like this is often an allowable expense in education savings account programs such as Arizona's ESA, but each program decides, and some pay only vendors on their own marketplace. Read what ESA funds can buy, then save Power Homeschool to your wishlist and apply once on Edulist to the programs that fit your family.
