This homeschool attendance sheet fits a full school year on one page: 180 numbered boxes, ten to a row, each with a line to write the date. Every 30th day is shaded so you can see your progress at a glance, and the bottom has a total, a parent signature and a date.

180 days is common, but rules differ a lot. Some states set a day or hour count, others require none at all. Set the number of boxes to match your state (from 100 to 240), and look up your state's homeschool page for the exact requirement. Prefer a month-by-month grid? Try the attendance calendar.

Tips for using it

  • Write the date as soon as school is done each day. Reconstructing attendance in May is no fun.
  • Keep the finished sheet with your portfolio or other records, in case your state or a future school asks.

Questions

Do homeschoolers have to track attendance?

It depends on the state. Some require a set number of days or hours and expect a record, others have no attendance rule. Check your state's homeschool requirements.

What counts as a homeschool day?

Each state with a day count defines it differently, and many leave it to the parent. Field trips, co-op classes and lessons on a Saturday often count where the law doesn't specify.
