Texas Sports Academy says its online program is a virtual private school, so Texas families can use a Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA) private school award of $10,474 for 2026–27 toward tuition. The school also says it is not affiliated with the TEFA program and that funding requires separate state approval. The state program decides who gets an award.

Texas Sports Academy gives young athletes the training time of a sports academy with Alpha's two-hour academic model. The online version is one of the few ways to get Alpha's academics at a price TEFA can cover. The trade-off is that academics run on software with guides rather than teachers, the results claims come from Alpha itself, and no school can promise a recruiting outcome. Visit, ask about accreditation and NCAA course approval, and get the contract terms in writing.

Texas Sports Academy Online is $10,400 a year if you pay yourself. The school does not post in-person tuition on its site. News reports put the newer campuses at $15,000 a year and the original Lake Travis campus at $25,000, so confirm your campus's price with admissions.
The school says Texas Sports Academy Online is free to families who receive the $10,474 TEFA private school award, because its $10,400 price is below that amount. TEFA awards are limited and decided by the state, so an award is not guaranteed. In-person campuses usually cost more than the award.
