This times table chart lists each table from the 1s to the 12s as its own column of facts, written out in full: 7 × 1 = 7, 7 × 2 = 14, and so on to 7 × 12 = 84. Some kids find this easier than a grid because each fact reads like a sentence, and it is what many families picture when they say "times tables."
Hang it near the homework spot and have your child read one table aloud each day, then cover the answers and say them from memory. Switch Answers to Some blank or Blank for a fill-in worksheet with an answer key.
They show the same facts. A multiplication chart is a grid where you find the answer where a row and column meet. A times table chart writes each table out as a list, like 6 × 1 = 6, 6 × 2 = 12.
A common order is 10s, 2s, 5s, 1s and 0s, then 3s, 4s, 9s and 11s, then the 6s, 7s, 8s and 12s. Each new table builds on facts the child already knows.
