Twenty five-digit numbers to round to the nearest ten, hundred, thousand or ten thousand, grouped by place on one sheet. The 4th grade standard is to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place, and switching places part by part makes children find the right digit each time instead of following one pattern.

Watch for carries: 49,862 rounded to the nearest thousand is 50,000, because the thousands digit rolls over. For a full 4th grade place value sheet, try 4th grade place value. Rounding pays off in estimation with 4th grade multiplication.

Tips for using it

  • Underline the digit in the rounding place and circle the digit to its right.
  • Everything to the right of the rounding place becomes zero.
