This 3rd grade sight words list joins the 41 Dolch third grade words with Fry's third 100, leaving out words from earlier grade lists. That makes 104 words, including laugh, together, thought, enough, sometimes, important and family.

Print the checklist and check off what your child reads within about three seconds. By third grade, most kids decode many of these words; the goal is automatic reading so their attention goes to meaning. Mark the words that are slow or misspelled and make a short custom list for practice.
