Centimeter graph paper has 1 cm squares, a bit bigger than the quarter-inch grid, with a darker line every 5 cm to make counting easy. The size is popular for elementary area and perimeter work, because each square is exactly one square centimeter, and for bar graphs and pictographs where kids need room to write.
Choose A4 under Paper if you are outside the US. Print at 100% scale, then check one square with a ruler. For finer work, switch to 5 mm squares; for kindergarten and 1st grade, try 2 cm.
Tips for using it
- Use it for area: draw a rectangle 4 squares by 6 and count 24 square centimeters.
- Measure a square after printing. If it isn't 1 cm, turn off any 'fit to page' setting.
