This 2nd grade spelling list has 19 weekly units of 12 words. It covers the long-vowel teams (rain and day, beach and happy, light and fly, boat and snow, moon and new), r-controlled vowels (girl, fur, shark, store), the vowel sounds in cloud, cow, coin and boy, three-letter blends, -tch and -dge, soft c and g, compound words, contractions, adding endings (running, hoping) and homophones (one and won, flour and flower).
