Thirty division facts like 56 ÷ 8 and 108 ÷ 12, all dividing evenly with answers from 0 to 12. Divisors are dealt evenly, so ÷ 7 shows up as often as ÷ 2. The answer key is on the last page.

Every division fact is a multiplication fact in reverse, which is why most programs teach them together. If multiplication facts are solid, division follows quickly. Next steps: long division, then division with remainders. For younger learners, the 3rd grade division sheet keeps facts within 10.

Tips for using it

  • Read 42 ÷ 6 as 'six times what is 42?'
  • Learn division alongside each times table: after the 4s, do ÷ 4.

Questions

Why can't you divide by zero?

Division asks how many groups of a number make the total. No number of groups of 0 ever adds up to 6, so 6 ÷ 0 has no answer. The worksheets never divide by zero.

What is the difference between division facts and long division?

Facts are single steps you know from multiplication (63 ÷ 7). Long division breaks bigger numbers into steps (672 ÷ 7) using those facts.
