Twelve long division problems, each dividing a three-digit number by a one-digit number with no remainder. Three columns leave room under each bracket to write every step: divide, multiply, subtract, bring down.
Starting without remainders lets children learn the routine before thinking about leftovers. When it's comfortable, try division with remainders or the 4th grade division worksheets. For 5th grade, 2-digit divisors are the next step. If a step keeps going wrong, it's usually a multiplication fact; review with times tables worksheets.
4th grade, with one-digit divisors and up to four-digit dividends. 5th graders extend it to two-digit divisors.
Divide, multiply, subtract and bring down, repeated for each digit. Many kids remember them with a phrase like 'Does McDonald's sell burgers?'
