All 50 states in one download: this preset deals the states into two word searches of 25 each, so every state appears exactly once. States that hide inside each other, such as Kansas and Arkansas or Virginia and West Virginia, go into different puzzles so kids aren't fooled by a partial match.
Two-word states like New Hampshire and North Carolina are hidden without the space (NEWHAMPSHIRE), and the grid is 20 × 20 to fit the longest names. That makes this a puzzle for 3rd grade and up, when US geography usually enters the curriculum. For a follow-up, the crossword version of this bank uses each state's capital as the clue.
Tips for using it
- Color each state on a blank US map as your child finds it in the puzzle.
- Split the work: one child takes puzzle 1, another takes puzzle 2, then they swap.

How do I get all 50 states in the word search?
This preset already does it: two puzzles of 25 states, each state used once. If you change the settings, set Number of words to 25 and Different puzzles to 2 to keep all 50.
Why are the names written without spaces?
Word searches hide letters only, so New York becomes NEWYORK in the grid. The word list keeps the normal spelling.
