Twenty-five problems that multiply a two-digit number by a one-digit number (2 through 9), like 47 × 6. It's the first step beyond the times tables and the bridge to all multi-digit multiplication.
The math is two facts and a carry: 7 × 6 = 42 (write 2, carry 4), then 4 × 6 = 24, plus the 4 is 28, so 282. Children who struggle usually have a shaky fact or forget the carried digit. Practice the facts with the 3rd grade multiplication sheet; when these are easy, move to 3-digit by 1-digit.
Late 3rd grade (multiplying by multiples of 10) and 4th grade, where the standards cover multiplying up to four digits by one digit.
