Ten rows counting by 5s, each starting at a different multiple of 5 (like 35 or 80) with three missing numbers to fill in. Starting in the middle is harder than starting at zero and builds real fluency: children must know that 65 comes after 60, not just recite from the beginning.

Counting by 5s shows up everywhere: nickels, minutes on a clock, tally marks and the 5 times table. Once this is easy, try telling time to 5 minutes or the 5 times table. For mixed numbers, use the main skip counting worksheets.

Tips for using it

  • Numbers counting by 5 always end in 0 or 5.
  • Count by 5s while touching each number on a clock face.

Questions

Why do the rows start at different numbers?

To build real understanding. Starting at 35 or 80 means children can't just recite 5, 10, 15 from memory.

Can I make the rows start at zero?

Yes. Set Start at to Zero above for an easier sheet.
