The 3s are the first table without an obvious shortcut, so skip counting does the heavy lifting: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36. Chanting the count with a rhythm (clapping on each number) helps it stick. Kids can also build any 3s fact from the 2s: 3 × 7 is 2 × 7 plus one more 7, or 14 + 7 = 21.
This page lists the 3 times table from 3 × 1 to 3 × 12, gives a shuffled practice column so kids can't rely on order, and includes a skip-counting strip to finish. The pattern box shows a neat check: add the digits of any answer until one digit is left and you always get 3, 6 or 9.
For on-screen practice, play the 3 times table game: it opens on the 3s and brings back the facts your child misses.
Add the digits. If the sum is 3, 6 or 9 (keep adding until one digit is left), the number is a multiple of 3. For example, 27 gives 2 + 7 = 9.
Usually 3 × 7, 3 × 8 and 3 × 12. Practice those with the mixed column and flash cards.
