Twelve blank clock faces, each with a digital time underneath. Children draw the hands to match: a long minute hand and a short hour hand. The answer key shows the correct hands in red, with the hour hand placed exactly where it belongs between the numbers.
Drawing is harder than reading because children have to decide how far past the hour the hour hand goes: at 2:45 it's three-quarters of the way to 3. That makes it a great check of real understanding. For easier practice, change Times to the hour or half hour above; for reading practice, see telling time worksheets.
Tips for using it
- Draw the minute hand first, then the hour hand.
- Make the hour hand clearly shorter so the two are easy to tell apart.

Questions
Where does the hour hand go at 2:45?
Three-quarters of the way from 2 to 3. The hour hand moves a little with every minute, not just on the hour.
Can I print blank clocks with no times?
Not from this tool yet. For practice without a target time, print a sheet and cover the digital times, or let your child write their own times under each clock.
